Love is the source and enjoyment of life. You are love and when you don’t experience it inside you, you feel disappointed and nothings satisfy you. You can have a great relationship with your partner, an amazing house, creative job/business, good economy, fun friends; a bunch of vacations trips, but none of these blesses will fulfill you, until you learn self appreciation. Loving your self is the most important part of our lives. Love is the center of your being and your main power. Unfortunately, some of the time we look for love in the wrong places. In our society we learn to love others, and pay attention to their needs before we learn to love ourselves. “Teaching someone to like himself is more difficult than to teach him to like someone else” Esther Hicks. Self appreciation is the hardest task to accomplish because no one teaches us how to do it. Very often people don’t like to be alone because they haven’t learned to enjoy their own solitary company.
Consequently, it is our responsibility to love ourselves to discover untapped potential. Loving your self means to treat yourself the way you want others to treat you – with love, kindness, compassion and the respect you deserve. When you go through this process of learning about self-love, you realize that you deserve more time with yourself, before you offer love to others. If we don’t learn to love ourselves first, we spend our love and energy on other people or objects that do not contribute to our self-growth, self-esteem and life expansion.
When we love ourselves we acknowledge that we deserve to treat our body, spirit, emotions and our mind kindly and respectfully, just like we would treat anyone else. We deserve to encourage ourselves to forgive ourselves for any past mistakes. Also, we need to learn new ways to celebrate every little accomplishment and to feel grateful for who we are. Another source for learning about who we are is to use the process of healing by releasing resentments. We need to learn how to forgive others and ourselves. When we release hatred and resentment we feel lighter, happier and our inner power increases.
Sometimes we demand too much from ourselves or we criticize everything we do. Healing cannot be possible if we think we are bad, or that we don’t deserve prosperity. There are a lot of people who think they do not deserve better, they consider themselves bad, out of luck, or suffering from bad karma. Once I heard someone say, “There are no bad people, there are only people with bad habits.” Bad behavior can always be replaced by good habits; we just need the longing to change. If we let go of past resentments, everything around us improves, even our health. My intention through this message is to motivate people to feel blessed for their life, to stop resisting inner and outer growth and to start enjoying life to the fullest now.
